Bok Choy anyone?

Ava says "yes"! She'll eat bok choy but not broccoli? I don't get it. She must get it from her cousin Camden. :o) So the story is, since being a mommy I'm trying to feed Ava healthy things, things I never ate much growing up. Don't worry, I eat them too. I've discovered in my adult life that there are vegetables out there that I do like that I've never really had growing up. One of them being squash. I love it in soup and baked with butter and salt and pepper. I also really like sweet potatoes and yams. Mmmm, the fries are the best and a friend turned me on to sweet potato pie. Delicious! I now enjoy cooking a lot more, especially since I've been introduced to the allrecipes website. (Thanks Jessie :o) Check it out sometime.

Would someone please feed this child!

Peanut loves to explore and nothing is off limits to her (or so she thinks :o) Recently I discovered I didn't close the refrigerator door all the way, and so did Ava. Soon she was exploring all the shelves that she could reach until she found something interesting. Here is what unfolded... Hmmm, what's this?...
Can't quite figure out how to get into this bag...
How about if I dump it...
Ahhh yes, there we go. Yum!

A day in the life of Ava

So I know I haven't blogged in a while. Can I blame it on Facebook? Ugh, it takes up all my time. I actually posted these pictures a while ago with the intent to blog, but alas, the time has gotten away from me. So here's a typical or, not so typical, day in the life of Ava...
We wake up and have a slow morning. Here she is hanging out in her favorite chair. What attitude! :o)
Finding out what we mischief we can find with our favorite partner in crime. Someone forgot to watch the door...
A little afternoon rest with our favorite nap time friend...
A new habit. Watching Daddy come home in the late afternoon...After dinner playing with her toys.

Dinner time always the event...

Dinner time around our house can be quite the event. Sometimes we're...
messy... sometimes clean...
but always satisfied...
with compliments to the chef.
Thank you! Thank you!

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas with Peanut as she celebrated her first Christmas. Christmas Eve was spent with the Meyers family at our home. Here she is sitting with her cousin's Matthew and Sarah in front of our Christmas tree before we opened presents. Poor Matthew was such a good sport as he was so eager to open presents. He was so patient waiting for all the grown ups to finish eating and then worked so hard herding us into the formal room only to be stalled by me wanting some cousin pictures. He didn't seem to mind too much as he enjoyed holding his cousin. So sweet. Here she is with her Daddy opening her stalking for the very first time. She got some bath toys, new plastic bibs and her first Christmas ornament to start her collection.
Here she is with me opening her first present, a piggy bank. She caught on to the ripping of paper very quickly.
Here we are at my mom's on Christmas evening opening gifts as a family. Here she got a pig that walks and oinks. So cute. The theme for her was pigs this year and not something we planned, it just happened.
The pig was from her Aunt Jessie, Uncle Steven and Cousin Camden.A video of Peanut playing with her Christmas presents at home on Christmas morning.

Our Winter Wonderland!

Let it snow and snow it did! We got about 1 1/2-2 feet where we live and it stuck around for 10 days. Peanut had her very first white Christmas. It was so beautiful and a lot of fun to play in. We walked around and took some photos. This one is of us down at Lords Lake by our house. Peanut did okay int he snow as long as we were holding her.The Lake was frozen.
This was how much snow we had by 9:00am on the first day. It started snowing at 4:00am or so.
By the afternoon Ty had to shovel the front walk it was so deep.

Peanut is wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas Season. Is she trying to call Santa?
